SIGNIFICANT FIGURES

Then Bishop Gerald Gettelfinger recognizing Jack Thompson for his long time work with the DCCS and for serving as Scout Chaplain. Bishop Gettelfinger who retired and was named Bishop Emeritus in June 2011 was a strong supporter of Scouting in his role as Episcopal Liaison between the NCCS and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).  The gift is a statue of St. George, the patron saint of Scouting, carved from olive wood that the Bishop brought from the Holy Land.  Jack Thompson died on March 17, 2013.
